Who we are

A caring environment where every child is seen.

Laff British Montessori School is committed to providing high-quality education from the early years through primary level. Our school experience brings together structured learning, practical discovery, creativity, care and character development.

We believe children learn best when they feel safe, respected and encouraged. Our environment gives learners room to ask questions, practise skills, make connections and gradually become more independent.

Our educational spirit

We make learning active and meaningful, connecting classroom activities with real experiences and opportunities for children to think, practise and apply what they learn.

Our relationship with families

Parents and guardians are important partners in a child's journey. We value communication, shared responsibility and a strong school-home connection.

What guides us

Values that shape school life.

Our values influence how we teach, how we care for children and how we encourage learners to treat one another.

01

Respect

We encourage children to value themselves, their classmates, adults and the wider community.

02

Integrity

We teach children to be honest, responsible and willing to do what is right.

03

Excellence

We challenge learners to give their best while recognising that progress happens step by step.

04

Compassion

Kindness and care help create a community where children can learn with confidence.

05

Curiosity

Questions, exploration and discovery help children become active participants in their learning.

06

Independence

We help children develop practical habits, decision-making skills and confidence in their own abilities.

Our Montessori approach

Learning by doing.

Our approach gives children opportunities to handle materials, practise concepts, work at an appropriate level and develop concentration through meaningful activities.

✓Opportunities for independence
✓Respect for each child's pace of development
✓Classroom routines that build concentration
✓Learning that connects knowledge with real life
Care & wellbeing

A safe place to belong.

Children need more than lessons to thrive. They need an environment where they can feel secure, supported and cared for throughout the school day.

We pay attention to the everyday details that help children settle, participate and build positive relationships. From early-years care to classroom routines, we aim to create an atmosphere of warmth, structure and encouragement.

✓Nurturing early-years experiences
✓Positive classroom relationships
✓Encouragement to communicate and participate
✓Support for confidence and independence

Learning journey

Programmes for every stage.

Our learning journey is structured to support children as their abilities, confidence and responsibilities grow.

Early Years

Play, discovery, early literacy, numeracy, communication, movement and practical experiences that establish a strong foundation.

Primary 1 – 3

Developing core academic skills alongside creativity, confidence, communication and critical thinking.

Primary 4 – 6

Strengthening academic understanding, independent study habits, problem-solving and readiness for future learning.

Extra-Curricular

Opportunities for sports, arts, ICT, creativity and other experiences that help children discover wider interests.

School & family

Growing together, one child at a time.

Education works best when the school and family work together. We aim to keep communication clear, celebrate progress and provide opportunities for parents and guardians to remain connected to school life.

From classroom learning to celebrations and everyday milestones, we want families to feel that they are part of the community.

“Every child deserves an environment where they can learn, feel valued, discover their strengths and become confident in who they are.”
Learning in action

Children learning, participating and becoming.

Our photographs tell an important part of our story: children concentrating on their work, raising their hands, exploring materials, reading, collaborating and enjoying the experience of learning.

Confidence grows through participation

When children are encouraged to ask questions and contribute ideas, they learn that their voice matters. These small moments build confidence that extends beyond the classroom.

Concentration becomes a skill

Focused work gives children the chance to practise persistence, attention and responsibility while taking pride in what they accomplish.
